District courts in Sindh, with a conviction rate of 27.7 per cent and an acquittal rate of 72.73 per cent, disposed more than 33,000 cases between January and September, a local media outlet reported on Tuesday.
However, a total of 103,611 cases were pending trial as well by the end of September, representing an increase of 35.87 per cent.
A total of 97,638 cases were pending in the lower courts on the last day of 2017.
