Pakistan International Airline (PIA) Spokesperson has said that the airline has detached itself from its Markhor emblem, claiming it wishes to honour the decision of the Supreme Court that has directed the airline to change its new marketing strategies since May 2018.
The top court had taken notice of a change in PIA’s livery, from the national flag to Markhor, a wild goat species found in northern and central Pakistan that is also the national animal.
The apex court is hearing a case with regards to reports that current assets of the national carrier stand at Rs111 billion while total liabilities stand at Rs406 billion, with plans being made to sell off the airline.
