Comparisons are being drawn between the Diwali message that Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan gave on the occasion of Diwali with the message that his Indian counterpart gave over twitter on the occasion of Eid.
“Wishing all our Hindu citizens a happy Diwali” read the simple message tweeted by the Prime Minister on Diwali, in which he directed his wish specifically towards the Hindu community and not the entire country.
Back in June on the occasion of Eid, Narendra Modi had given a more detailed message, saying “Eid ul Fitr greetings! May this auspicious day further the spirit of peace and brotherhood in our society.
The messages were compared by a number of people on twitter, who pointed out that the Indian premier’s message on the occasion of the religious festival of his country’s minority was much more inclusive than the one delivered by Imran Khan.
