LAHORE: The local Hindu community celebrated Diwali with traditional fervour and zeal here on Wednesday.
In this regard, a central ceremony was held at Krishna Mandar Ravi Road.
Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Acting Chairman Tahir Ehsan congratulated the Hindu community. Board Secretary Tariq Wazir, Imran Gondal, Hindu leader Dr Munawar Chand and leaders of both Muslim and minority communities also attended the ceremony.
Krishna Mandar was illuminated with colourful lights while members of the Hindu community performed their rites.
A cake was also cut and gifts were distributed among the participants.
Speaking at the ceremony, Tariq Wazir said that minorities living in Pakistan enjoyed equal rights and had access to all facilities.
Hindu leader Dr Munawar Chand thanked the government and ETPB for making good arrangements and helping the community celebrate the festival of lights with traditional zeal.
