Happy Birthday Bryan Adams: five iconic songs by the music genius

Over the years Bryan Adams has made a place in the hearts of people with hits like “Summer of 69“, “Everything I Do“, “Run into You” and “Heaven.”

The Canadian singer rose to fame in 1983 with his album “Cuts like a Knife” and turned into a global star with his 1984 album “Reckless“.

With a career spanning more than three decades, the rockstar is still making music and has not left the heart of the people. His knack of piecing together the simplest of words and making a love song out of it, resonates right with your soul.

With every song that he sang, it gives you the impression that it is for you and sometimes it seems to perfectly describe how you feel at that very moment.

As his voice takes you to Cloud 9 and as the star turns 59, we have listed down five of his popular songs that have made history:

1 – Summer of ’69

This was the first Bryan Adams song I heard, thanks to my father and from there I realised that everyone and I mean everyone knows of this song, even those who don’t know who Bryan Adams is.

A timeless classic from his 1984’s album Reckless, takes you on a nostalgic journey; no matter what generation you are from.

2 – Everything I Do

This song is a staple to Bryan Adams’ collection of hits from his 1991 film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and also included on his album Waking Up the Neighbours.

Every time you hear this song there are way too many emotions that come with it that no words can ever describe.

The song went to No 1 worldwide including the US Hot 100.

3 – Cloud Number Nine

This song definitely gets you groovin’ with the music and the lyrics take you on a whole new journey. I mean c’mon:

“And the moon is out and the stars are bright
And whatever comes it’s gonna be alright
‘Cause tonight you will be mine, up on cloud number nine”

4 – Heaven

With Adams’ soulful voice piercing through your soul, this was another memorable hit which was No 1 at Hot 100 in 1985. It also hails from Reckless and has been covered many times including a dance version by DJ Sammy that hit radio waves.

5 – Please Forgive Me

This worldwide hit ballad was released on his 1993 greatest hits album So Far So Good. It became an instant favourite among Adams fans.

Special Mention:

This song from the 2002 animated movie Spirit is on everyone’s list and needed an honorary mention on Adams’ birthday.
