MUZAFFARABAD: A senior politician and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Sardar Khalid Ibrahim died of a brain haemorrhage here on Sunday.
The 72-years old Sardar Khalid Ibrahim Khan was the son of AJK founding president, Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan. He had started his political career from Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). After parting ways with Benazir Bhutto due to political differences, he formed his own party, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Party (JKPP).
Khalid Ibrahim will be buried next to his father in his hometown, Rawalakot.
The government of AJK has announced a one-day official mourning on Monday during which all government offices, schools, colleges and universities will remain closed.
Furthermore, PPP Women Wing President Faryal Talpur and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari condoled the death of the prominent Kashmiri leader.
They expressed a deep grief and sorrow over the demise of the JKPP president.
