The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government decided to link the Sehat Sahulat Programme (SSP) data with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) which is expected to increase beneficiaries of the programme by 600,000.
Previously, data was gathered from the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) under which citizens received health support on the basis of household, each consisting of eight members.
“The data hasn’t been traceable because BISP was not linked to NADRA. Often, the authorities as well as patients face embarrassment because their relationship couldn’t be confirmed with head of the household,” the officials said.
They officials have said that a complete coordination between KP and NADRA would make the system trouble-free and fast.
The number of beneficiaries on a single SSP certificate may also go up as there is no specific limit of eight household members, and it is expected that the number of entitled population may go up to three million from the present 2.4 million for which the government will allocate more funds.
