JI warns countrywide protest campaign amid Aasiya Bibi verdict

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amir Senator Sirajul Haq has warned that his party would launch a countrywide protest campaign against the blasphemers of Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).

Addressing a “Hurmaat-e-Rasool” march on the Main University Road, here Sunday, he said his party would launch a countrywide “Hurmaat-e-Rasool Tehreek” from Karachi to Khyber to Chitral.

He said, “We would sacrifice the last drop of our blood for the sanctity of ‘Namoos-e-Risalat’”.

He charged that the verdict on the Aasiya Bibi case has received praise from the ‘West and Jews’ but saddened the Ummah.

He asked from the PTI government to tell the people of Pakistan if Aasiya Bibi was inside the country or sent abroad. He said that Shaheed Maulana Samiul Haq, when he was alive had warned the rulers that if such a verdict was made it would be the end of their government.

He added that this issue is not a political matter but pertains to the core inner sentiments of the people of Pakistan and the nation would never compromise on this issue.

Other JI leaders also spoke. Later, the rally participants dispersed peacefully.
