SIALKOT: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar will inaugurate the-newly established Head Marala Hydropower Project near Sialkot here Monday.
According to senior officials of Sialkot irrigation department, the hydropower project had been established in Upper Chenab Canal (UCC) near Head Marala Barrage over River Chenab at a total cost of Rs 3.98 billion under the supervision of the Chinese engineers.
It has the total capacity of producing 7.64 MW electricity with four turbines of 1.9 megawatts capacity each, which were made functional after their successful tests conducted there under the joint supervision of Pakistani and Chinese engineers, the officials added.
This power producing plant was linked with the national grid which will generate 50.3 million units of electricity annually.
‘PTI TO PULL COUNTRY OUT OF CRISES’:
CM Buzdar said that the PTI government pull the country out of the crises and make sure Pakistan regains its lost destination under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He expressed these views while talking to different delegations who called on him today at Chief Minister’s Office. Conversing with them, the CM said that the only agenda of the PTI government is the prosperity of the people, stressing that the government is committed to bringing economic stability.
“PM Imran Khan will never disappoint our people and will fulfill their hopes,” he said and added that every one of us has to play our proactive role for the development of the country.
He said that the provision of basic facilities to the people and the immediate solution to their problems is the priority of government. He said, “We are successfully heading towards the completion of 100-day agenda of PM,” adding that after the successful completion of 100-day agenda, people will soon feel a positive change in Pakistan.
The chief minister said that setting up a rule of transparency and law is the mission of PTI. He claimed that concrete steps have been taken for the welfare of the common man in a short period of time. “We are working vigorously to solve issues of public according to their expectations and as per the vision of our leader,” he concluded.
EXPRESS SORROW AT DEATH OF AJK LAWMAKER:
Buzdar expressed sorrow over the death of Azad Jammu Kashmir Assembly member Sardar Khalid Ibrahim. In his condolence message, the CM commiserated with the bereaved family and prayed Allah to give them the patience to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude. He also prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul.
