Influential persons ‘brutally beat up’ women over land dispute

At least three women sustained injuries after some influential persons allegedly beat them up over a land dispute in a village of the Sialkot district, a private media outlet reported.

According to reports, the incident occurred in the Kadian Wali village near Pasrur, when a group of influential persons tried to occupy 22-acre land of a citizen in his absence.

During the land grabbing bid, three women, who were present on the spot, intervened and tried to stop the occupants; however, were beaten up with wooden sticks by the accused.

The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital while the suspects fled the scene.

A case has been registered against the attackers at the Phalorah police station.
