SHEIKHUPURA: Punjab government has paid Rs10,000 as compensation to the young fruit vendor who was looted by Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) workers as they protested against Aasiya Bibi’s acquittal in a blasphemy case.

As per the details, Sheikhupura Assistant Commissioner Fazail Mudassir on Saturday visited the residence of the boy, Muhammad Mohsin, and handed him the compensation money.

Earlier, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry had asked the provincial government to compensate the fruit seller whose cart was attacked by mobsters on Friday morning.

In a video making rounds over the internet, the young boy was attacked by a forceful mob that raided his cart, running away with the goods while he struggled to protect his source of livelihood.

The video went on to show the boy trying to drive the cart away as the larceny continued.
