Rana Daggubati, of Baahubali fame, has reportedly replaced Nana Patekar in Housefull 4 after accusations of sexual harassment emerged against the latter.
Speaking to the Mumbai Mirror, Daggubati confirmed the news saying, “It is always good to find work outside of Hyderabad, get to learn so much and do so many new things. I’ve never been part of a genre like Housefull and it’s always exciting to work with different genres. Working with Akshay Kumar again (after Neeraj Pandey’s 2015 action-spy thriller Baby), Sajid Nadiadwala and Farhad Samji is something I am really looking forward to.”
He is reportedly playing the role of a ghazal singer in the film
The actor later shared on Twitter, “Heading to the sets of Housefull 4. Shooting in Mumbai after a very long time!”

The development comes a few weeks after Patekar’s exited from the film after he was accused of sexual harassment by actor Tanushree Dutta.
“Nana saheb does not want any inconvenience caused to anyone and hence in the backdrop of false accusations levelled against him, he thought it fit to distance himself with the ongoing project of Housefull,” a statement notified.
Moreso, the film’s producers have also replaced the director Sajid Khan, who was accused of sexual misconduct by several women. Housefull 3 director Farhad Samji will now be directing the film which starres Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol and Kriti Sanon among others.
