Two killed, 11 injured in Karachi religious groups clash

KARACHI: At least two people were killed and 11 others injured in an armed clash between two religious groups here on Wednesday midnight.

Police said that armed men of two religious groups exchanged fire in Sector E-5, near Sindhi Hotel in new Karachi.

Two people including Shehbaz, 30, and Shahid, 28, were killed in cross firing while 11 others identified as Ahmad Raza, Afsar, Muhammad Zubair, Yaseen, Abdul Wahab, Aslam, Naveed, Riasat, Faizan and Asad were critically injured.

A heavy contingent of police and Sindh Rangers reached the scene of the clash and brought the situation under control.

The bodies and the injured criminals were shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.

The police started raids for their arrest after registering a case against armed men of the two clashing groups.
