Pakistan seeks oil in deferred payments from Mubarak Village

(Disclaimer: this is a work of fiction. Learn to take a joke; you’ll live longer.)

ISLAMABAD – With a bulk of oil spill at its disposal, Pakistan has offered Mubarak Village that it will clean up the mess and take all the dumped oil in deferred payments with the sole purpose of promoting mutual ties.

According to reliable sources, Mubarak Village has considered the offer made by centre to grant oil in deferred payments. The oil and dead sea life can be traded under some terms, they added.

Although it is yet to be ascertained whether the oil spill was caused by Byco pipelines or ship that came to Gadani ship-breaking yard, the federal government has said it cannot let such incidents come in way of the relations with Mubarak Village, adding that the oil will be used to get the country out of economic crisis.

Reports claim that the so-called oil spill is, in fact, a huge reservoir of fossil fuels, mainly crude oil, spreading across the village. A large sea area, including rocks and deep water, is affected by the oil.

If the environmental hazards caused in the area are ignored for an indefinite period, the oil can be used to counter the country’s financial woes, a senior economist told The Dependent.

Moreover, the United States (US) is also considering the recently-discovered oil for its strategic interest, media reports said, claiming that the US State Department has already added Mubarak Village to its ’next-country-that-needs-freedom-and-democracy’ list.
