17-day Sindh Theater Festival to kick-off on Nov 2

KARACHI: Sindh Theater Festival 2018 will be held in the City from November 2 to 18, Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP) Karachi President Mohammad Ahmed Shah announced on Thursday.

This theatre will be organised by ACP Karachi in collaboration with Sindh Culture Department in which 20 theatre dramas will be performed, of which 10 of them would be in Urdu while the remaining 10 in Sindhi language.

Culture Minister Sardar Ali Shah will be the chief guest of the festival at the opening ceremony on Friday 2 November at 6:30 pm at A-C Auditorium of Arts Council Karachi.

ACP Karachi president said that on each day, the plays of famous writers will be performed and on 10 and 11 November the famous play “Kyun Nikala” by Anwar Maqsood will be performed.

He further said that the people will enjoy these plays and this act will help in the development of the theatre in future, adding that the ACP is doing its best to develop and promote Urdu literature and culture, he added.

Following plays will be performed: “Ullu aur Mano” directed by Anjum Ayaz, “Fana Kayo Firaq “ directed by Akbar Shah, “Taleem-e-Balighan directed by Farhan Alam, “Ikhtiyar” directed by Zain Ahmed, “Mokhi Aen Matara” directed by Rafique Essani,”Akhri Raat” directed by Shahjahan Narejo, “Aaina” directed by Akbar Islam, “Chehro Chehro Aaino” directed by Naz Sahito, “Chup” directed by Sunil Shankar, “ Kyun Nikala” directed by Dawar Mehmood, “Rang Badal lo Bhai” directed by Sheema Kermani, “Un Poora Khuwab” directed by Ali Roshan Shaikh, “Tirkini Dakan” directed by Ayoob Gad,  “Raagni” directed by Meesam Naqvi  “Hertal” directed by Sattar Lar and many others.

The would be no tickets for the people, however, invitation cards would be issued through which the entry will be allowed in the auditorium so that people can freely enjoy with their families in a safe environment.
