Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are definitely one of our favourite celebrity couples and everyone is eagerly waiting for their wedding which appears to be happening soon as Priyanka celebrated her bridal shower the past weekend.
While Nick has not shied from speaking about their relationship in public, Priyanka has been more guarded.
However, at a recent launch event for a dating app in New York, Priyanka gave her fans some insight into their relationship and shared why she chose Nick Jonas as her life partner.
“Truly this is what worked for me, he has to be someone who respects you. By that, I don’t mean makes coffee for you, not that. But someone who respects the hard work you put into your life,” the 36-year-old actor said.
She continued, “Who respects that if his work is important, so is yours. Or if he makes choices that are important to him, so is your opinion. That’s respect, and that’s incredible to have.”
Priyanka further said that trust is of utmost importance in a relationship.
“Everything is easy when you give each other credit for your intelligence, you give each other the benefit of the doubt because you trust each other. There’s so much that comes out of that. I think don’t settle for less than that.”
Priyanka celebrated her bridal shower on Sunday in the presence of friends and family in New York, pictures of which were splashed all over social media. The actress looked stunning in a white strapless Marchesa dress and nude pink heels.
Speaking about the event, Priyanka told People Magazine, “This was not a conventional shower, it was a nightclub in Tiffany. There was so much dancing — like five hours of dancing. It was amazing!”
As per reports, Priyanka and Nick are expected to tie the knot on December 2 at Rajasthan’s Mehrangarh Fort in an extravaganza that may stretch over days. The couple got engaged in July in a traditional roka ceremony at Priyanka’s residence in Mumbai in the presence of family and friends.
