Fakhr-e-Alam gets visa clearance, Mission Parwaaz continues

Award-winning actor and singer-songwriter Fakhr-e-Alam, who is currently circumventing the globe as part of his Mission Parwaaz was inconvenienced Monday as he was briefly detained at an airport in Russia for not having a valid visa.

However, as per the latest updates by Alam, he has been issued a new visa and is ready to take-off again.

“Mission Parwaaz update 11am local time. I have just received a new visa. I am now preparing the airplane and ready to go to Petropavovask airport. Thank you to all of my friends, well wishers the Pakistan government and the Russian authorities. The flag continues its journey,” read his tweet.

Alam thanked the government of Pakistan and its people for assisting him. He thanked Assistant to the Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Sayed Zulfiqar Bukhari, Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Ali  Zaidi and Governor Sindh Imran Ismail in particular.

He also thanked all the people of Pakistan and the Pakistani media for their “prayers and support.”

On Monday, Alam’s good friend, actor Faysal Quraishi took to social media to share that Alam had been detained at Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk airport because his “visa expired 2 hours and date changed.”

He continued that the Russian authorities were forcing Alam to turn back to Japan. However, he could’t go there as he had a single entry visa.

Alam appealed to the government to facilitate him with the visa so that he may continue his mission.

Alam commenced his Mission Parwaaz, dedicated to the brave people of Pakistan, from Clearwater Florida on October 10 from where he flew to various countries across the world including Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Croatia, Japan, Australia, Bangladesh and Pakistan. The entire trip is expected to be completed in 28 days, given the weather conditions are favourable. Alam’s motivation for the project was to carry the Pakistani flag high and present the country in a positive light.
