Mission Parwaaz: Fakhr-e-Alam detained at Russian airport

Award-winning actor and singer-songwriter Fakhr-e-Alam, who is currently circumventing around the globe as part of his Mission Parwaaz has reportedly been detained at an airport in Russia for not having a valid visa.

As per latest reports, the Pakistani Ambassador to Russia, Qazi Khalil Ullah, is facilitating him on the matter. However, he will still be spending the night at the airport and will hopefully get a visa tomorrow.

Alam’s good friend, actor Faysal Quraishi took to social media to share the news and requested the government to help Alam and facilitate him in his mission.

“Bro please tweet on my behalf,” read Quraishi’s tweet. “I am being detained at Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk airport because my visa expired 2 hours and date changed.”

He continued, “They are forcing me to turn back to Japan. I cannot go to Japan because I had single entry visa. I appeal to Pakistan govt to request the Russian government to allow me to continue my journey to Alaska.”

“I don’t want to give up Mission Parwaaz. I need Pakistan’s support to carry on our flag to finish this. I have been in a room without food or water. No wifi. They didn’t give me my phone for 6 hours. I NEED HELP,” he signed off.

Ever since Faysal shared the news, fans and followers have been tweeting to the government including Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry and Minister for Foreign Affair Shah Mahmood Qureshi to help Alam in his hour of need.

Alam commenced his Mission Parwaaz from Clearwater Florida on October 10 from where he flew to various countries across the world including Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Croatia, Japan, Australia, Bangladesh and Pakistan. The entire trip is expected to be completed in 28 days, given the weather conditions are favourable. Alam’s motivation for the project was to carry the Pakistani flag high and present the country in a positive light.
