Task force to draft recommendations for tourism potential in GB

Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination Federal Secretary Jamil Ahmad said that the task force on tourism is drafting recommendations to make use of the untapped tourism potential in Gilgit Baltistan, adding that the task force had representation from all the stakeholders from four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

These recommendations will be aimed at improving infrastructure, introducing visa reforms for foreign tourists and promote environment-friendly tourism in areas including and beyond the north of Pakistan, especially GB and AJK, along with the Indus and historical religious sites.

“It is the first task force constituted by Prime Minister Imran Khan, who heads the committee himself,” he said.

According to Ahmad, the members would also propose the fate of Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC).
