The Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) and Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation (FIF) are no longer on the list of proscribed organisations after a presidential ordinance declaring them to be so lapsed, a local media outlet reported on Thursday.
The organisations are headed by Hafiz Mohammad Saeed and were banned after a UN resolution.
Saeed’s lawyer informed the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that the presidential ordinance was not extended.
Saeed had previously filed a petition against placing the two organisations on the list of banned organisations.
The high court judge observed that if the government renewed the ordinance, another petition could be filed by Saeed over the matter.
