CTD foils terror bid, arrests TTP agent in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) foiled a terror bid and arrested an extremist of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) here on Friday.

The CTD spokesperson said that an intelligence based operation was conducted in the Chakri area of Rawalpindi.

During the operation, a terrorist, Imran Shah, belonging to TTP was apprehended with explosives, maps, and other material used in terrorist activities.

The counter terrorism department’s spokesperson said that the detainee in the preliminary investigation has revealed that he planned to target the office of sensitive installations in Rawalpindi, however, timely action by the anti-terrorism force foiled the attempt.

The nabbed terrorist was shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation.
