Vigilance teams to monitor any violation of child labour laws in Sindh

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Labour and Human Resources Ghulam Murtaza Baloch on Thursday said that strict action will be taken against the violation of child labour laws in factories and workshops across the province.

The minister stated this while presiding the meeting of all directors of Labour Department at Directorate of Labour, Sindh Secretariat Karachi.

He said that we will form vigilance teams to conduct surprise visits in all factories of Sindh and monitor the situation.

Sindh Labour Director Khadim Hussain Bhutto briefed the minister regarding the working, performance and issues faced by the Labour Department.

Ghulam Murtaza Baloch said that we will not let the workers’ rights get at risk. It is our responsibility to provide justice and fight for the due rights of the workers all over Sindh.

He said, “I will not tolerate any tug of war among the bodies working under the labour department.” All officers and employees fulfil their duties with honesty and sincerity any red-tapism in official work of the department are unacceptable, he urged.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Secretary Labour Mukhtiar Mallah, Joint director Zahid Gulzar Shaikh, Sarfaraz Ahmed Awan, Farrukh Zaidi, Shahjahan and others.
