Politicians react to PM Khan’s NRO statement

Former state minister for information Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Wednesday that Prime Minister Imran Khan should disclose on which conditions the $6 billion deal with Saudi Arabia was done.

While reacting to the prime minister’s statement of not letting any politician get away through the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), she said, “The PM should also tell who is asking for NRO?”

She said that PM Khan is now congratulating the nation on something he used to criticise the previous government on.

Meanwhile, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s spokesman Mustafa Nawaz Khokar said that no one is asking PM Khan for NRO, he should keep it with himself.

PPP leader Sherry Rehman said, “Imran Khan talks like an opposition leader.”

PM Khan addressed the nation on Wednesday, shedding light on his two-day visit to Saudi Arabia and the recent financial deal.

The prime minister vowed to continue the fight against corruption alleging that PPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) want to get an NRO from his government.

He stated that his government will not give any NRO to these parties.

“If these two parties want to take to streets, then they should go ahead with it,” PM Khan said, promising to provide containers to them for camping out.

“Get this loud and clear, there will be no NRO. I will not spare any corrupt individual,” he said.
