Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Thursday put his weight behind women by encouraging them to never lose faith in their abilities, saying they must never think that they are lesser than men.
He was speaking at the award ceremony of the National Women’s Football Championship in Lahore as the chief guest.
“Sports play an indelible role in a nation’s development. These girls will play a central role in making Pakistan proud with their many achievements,” the top judge opined while lauding the achievements and role of women in the sports arena.
The CJP said that the government must hone the skills of athletes by investing heavily in sports in order to see a prosperous and thriving nation.
He stressed that there is a dire need to build sports stadiums and parks for the youth, and called upon the youth to work hard and remain determined to make the country proud.
On Wednesday, during a hearing of a case regarding the disposal of medical waste, the CJP observed that any government that is unable to provide health and education facilities, is a government that failed its people.
