LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs (HR&MA) Aijaz Alam Augustine on Thursday condemned the trailer of ‘Maria Bint-e-Abdullah’ – an upcoming project of a private channel undermining religious beliefs of the Christian community.
In a statement issued here, Alam said the ministry strongly believed in co-existence of all religions with equality and harmony. He said that no religion promoted hatred and it was a collective responsibility to ensure a peaceful as well as tolerant society.
The minister further said that no channel had the right to promote the negative aspects of any community and requested all media channels to immediately stop all programmes that were in violation of basic human rights.
“Otherwise we have the right to approach PEMRA,” he added.
