The Saudi government on Tuesday invited the son of slain journalist Jamal Khashoggi to the Royal Palace in Riyadh to offer condolences.

Salah, Khashoggi’s son, met with King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.

Another family member of the journalist, Sahel, was also present.

The crown prince is widely believed to be behind the directives to assassinate Jamal Khashoggi, although such charges have been denied by Saudi Arabia.

Social media erupted in an uproar after the images were shared by the country.

“Salah, Jamal Khashoggi’s son, who is banned from travel. They brought him to the royal court to accept condolences. The look on his face. This photo makes me want to scream and throw up,” wrote one user.

“And here is the video. Salah (Jamal Khashoggi son, banned from travel) had to shake hands with who is believed to be his dad’s killer. Ruthless. Ruthless. Ruthless,” said another.

“REPULSIVE. Saudi tyrant ‘MBS’ – aka Mohammed Bone Saw – forces Jamal Khashoggi’s son to do a PR photo-op handshake, days after ordering his father’s torture, dismemberment & murder.
A new low, even by the medieval standards of this barbaric crown prince,” said Piers Morgan.

“No hard feelings but how wide has the media spread the image of his son Salah bin Jamal Khashoggi shaking the hand of MbS [image including video cameraman]. Every picture tells a story. This one is sick. How low can the psyoperation go?”

“EYEBALLS TO EYEBALLS…when you meet with your father’s presumed killer! Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met with murdered Journalist Khashoggi’s son Salah bin Jamal Khashoggi and other members of the family in Riyadh on Tuesday, state-run news agency SPA reports,” wrote another Twitter user.
