LAHORE: Punjab government on Thursday rebutted a news item appearing in a section of press which stated that Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and his relatives were influencing the ongoing murder investigation of a school teacher.
“The chief minister has nothing to do with the alleged murder case of Taunsa Shareef’s Umair Nutkani and has not influenced its probe,” said a Punjab government spokesperson, adding that the Taunsa City police have already registered an FIR [First Information Report] and are proceeding the case in accordance with the investigation procedure.
The spokesperson, however, said that the deceased’s brother-in-law, Samar Abbas Rind, has been making baseless and false allegations through posts on social media regarding the use of influence on the part of the chief minister, which is highly condemnable and against all canons of morality.
