ISLAMABAD: An accountability court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of a reference of undeclared income against former finance minister and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) leader Ishaq Dar till November 5.
As the hearing went underway, the lawyer of accused former National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) president Saeed Ahmad cross-examined prosecution’s star witness Tariq Saleem.
The other accused, including Naeem Ahmed and Mansoor Rizvi, were also present in the court. Ahmad’s legal counsel requested the court to adjourn the hearing citing medical reasons. After hearing the arguments, the court adjourned the hearing till Nov 5.
Earlier on October 23, NAB further tightened the noose around Ishaq Dar and prepared another case regarding circular debts.
The anti-corruption body is seeking the details of the payment of Rs480 billion paid during the Nawaz Sharif tenure, however, the power division has been reluctant in providing details over the payment of circular debt.
