KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Farooq Sattar, Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar and other party leaders were indicted by an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday.
The cases against the party’s leadership were related to 21 cases with regards to hate speeches.
Sattar, Akhtar, Amir Khan, Khawaja Izharul Hassan, Rauf Siddiqui, Qamar Mansoor, Rehan Hashmi and others appeared before the ATC in the provincial capital.
“The suspects are accused of facilitating a hate speech on July 25, do you accept this crime?” they were asked.
In response all accused in the cases pleaded their innocence.
Witnesses in the case were then summoned by the court over the matter in the next hearing scheduled for November 10.
