MUMBAI: A popular Bollywood celebrity manager Anirban Das Blah, founder of KWAN Entertainment, reportedly attempted to commit suicide following allegations of sexual misconduct. However, he was saved last minute.
According to the police, the incident took place at 1 am Friday and Blah was caught and rescued by a traffic police patrol in Vashi area and handed over to police. He was reportedly climbing over the barricades of the bridge when they caught hold of him.
“He was crying. He seemed very frustrated and depressed,” an official said.
The police recorded Blah’s statement before releasing him and advised his family to seek professional counselling.
Blah was asked to step aside from his position in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations against him after multiple reported accounts indicated that Blah had made sexual advances towards women.
Following this, KWAN Entertainment said on Wednesday that Blah had resigned from all his responsibilities and designations (including as a member of the Board of Directors) at KWAN and its subsidiaries/affiliates with immediate effect.
“We fully support the #MeToo movement and deprecate and condemn those who have exploited women in any form or manner,” the company had said in a statement, assuring a “safe and secure” working environment for its employees.
The company manages prominent names like Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Pritam, Mahesh Babu and Rana Dagubatti.
