Earthquake jolts Islamabad, surrounding cities

A 5.2 magnitude earthquake was experienced in Rawalpindi, Islamabad and surrounding cities where panic spread among the people in their homes and offices.

According to details, jolts were recorded in various cities, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Abbottabad, Nowshera, Buner, Malakand, Mingora and other parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

The earthquake also shook Kohistan, Battagram, Swabi, and parts of Azad Kashmir, including Bagh. No loss of life or damage to property has been reported yet.

On October 4, Karachi and parts of Sindh and Balochistan were hit by moderate earthquake measuring 4.5 on Richter scale.

According to National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC), Islamabad, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 12 kilometers beneath the earth near National Kirthpar Karok on Sindh-Balochistan border.

At around 10.40 pm on Wednesday, tremors were felt in pats of Sindh and Balochistan. No casualties were reported.
