ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday called for collaboration between Pakistan and Malaysia at an operational level so the countries can benefit from each other’s expertise.
He expressed these views during a telephone call with his Malaysian counterpart Dr Mahathir Mohammad on Thursday morning.
PM Imran underscored close and cordial relations between the two countries and highlighted the need for high-level bilateral exchanges.
He conveyed the immense respect the people and government of Pakistan felt for PM Mahathir as a statesman and a global leader.
He also extended his heartfelt felicitations to the Malaysian prime minister on Pakatan Harapan’s victory in general elections and appreciated PM Mahathir’s vision for steady economic progress in the country.
Mahathir reciprocated Imran’s sentiments and congratulated him on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s victory in recent general elections.
The prime minister invited Mahathir to Pakistan. The Malaysian prime minister accepted his invitation and also invited PM Imran for an early visit to Malaysia.
