Capital police nab 527 gangsters

-8 blind murders traced in current year

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have emerged successful against criminal gangs involved in crimes of heinous nature as they arrested a total of 527 gangsters besides, busting 193 criminal gangs during the current year.

A total of 81 gangs of dacoits and snatchers were busted while 321 dacoits were arrested for their involvement in these cases. Similarly, 80 gangs involved in burglaries were busted and 216 criminals involved in these cases were held whereas, 32 gangs of car and bike lifters and 80 other auto-thieves were also arrested.

A total of 36 persons were arrested for their involvement in 18 blind murder cases. Challan slips of these cases were submitted to the relevant courts after the completion of investigations.

Islamabad Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Syed Muhammad Amin Bukhari while appreciating the performance of his subordinates said that the main reason behind this success is the strategy of vigilant policing.

He vowed to continue these efforts for effective policing and making the police department service-oriented in a real manner. He has also directed police officials to ensure the arrest of criminals at large.

He said that he was proud that police officers remained firm against the menace of crime and are so far emerging successful in countering criminal elements, murderers, drug pushers, robbers and criminal gangs during the on-going year.
