The federal government has appointed Shafqat Jalil as additional secretary in-charge of the Information Ministry.
The notification issued in this regard stated, “Shafqat Jalil, a BS-21 officer of Information Group, presently posted as additional secretary, Information & Broadcasting Division, is transferred and posted as additional secretary in-charge, Information & Broadcasting Division, with immediate effect and until further orders.”
Shafqat Jalil is the most senior officer of the Information Group and will retire in June 2019.
On October 6, the government had transferred a grade 22 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera.
Sources told Pakistan Today that Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera had refused to obey the instructions regarding giving additional charge of Pakistan Television Cooperation (PTVC) managing director (MD) to incumbent chairman Arshad Khan.
The government had appointed the PTVC chairman from the private sector during last week of September and also directed to elect Arshad Khan as PTVC chairman in line with the memorandum and article of association (Article 95).
