LAHORE: A local court on Monday extended the interim bail of provincial minister Mehmoodur Rasheed’s son till October 23 in police torture case.
Additional Session Judge Tanveer Ahmed Awan heard the case.
The bail of Mian Hassan was extended after the judge heard the arguments from both sides.
Earlier on October 5, the court granted bail to five accused including provincial minister Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed’s son against a surety bond of Rs 0.5 million in torture on police personnel case.
The case was heard by Judge Tanveer Awan upon request by Rasheed.
Mian Hassan explained that he has no link with the case and never tortured police personnel but that he feared the police would arrest him before completion of the investigation, therefore his interim bail should be accepted.
The court accepted the argument and granted interim bail
Record of the case has also been summoned from Ghalib Police Station.
