KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to file a reference within a week, regarding the case of illegally converting residential plots into commercial plots against the former director general of KDA.

Karachi Development Authority (KDA) former DG Nasir Abbas and others accused appeared before the SHC.

SHC Judge Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro heard the case and granted the plea bail of the co-accused, Syed Raza, when the NAB prosecutor said that Raza was no more required.

Following the interaction between the NAB prosecutor and the SHC judge, the court directed the NAB officials to file the required references within a week.

The court said other applications of the accused would be heard at the next hearing.

The court adjourned the hearing by 19 October. Applicant Nasir Abbas’s counsel said that there was no any allegation against his client, and neither any loss was incurred after leasing out the plots.

He said his client had not leased the plots. He was arrested before the investigation and even now there was no any evidence against him.

The NAB investigation officer said that the bureau has certain evidence against the accused Nasir Abbas, adding that accused had commercialised the plots and being the DG of KDA and there are his signatures on the documents.

He said accused had issued NOCs for establishing petrol pump; however, the plots were vacated after their commercialisation.
