Retired top military official allegedly kidnapped from capital

ISLAMABAD: A retired army officer, who served with the country’s premier intelligence agency, has gone missing from the federal capital.

As per the details, the former brigadier was allegedly kidnapped from Sector G-1/2 of Islamabad.

On the complaint of Muhammad Ali Rizwan, the son of the missing former officer, the police have registered a kidnapping case against unidentified people.

The application registered with the Ramna Police Station states that the retired brigadier left his residence on October 10 at 7 pm with his driver; however, at 9 pm, the driver informed the family that the officer had gone missing.

According to the driver, the retired officer went to a roadside dhaba to have a cup of tea. “He asked me to stay with the car. At around 10 pm, his phone was switched off and it was then that I informed the family,” the driver said.

The investigating officer, Inspector Gulzar of the Ramna Police Station, has said that the whereabouts of the former military officer are still unknown. However, he said, the police were investigating the incident.
