Under the ongoing anti-encroachment drive, the authorities demolished the petrol pump of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Ghulam Dastgir Khan in Gujranwala.
Ghulam Dastgir Khan is the father of former defence minister during PML-N tenure, Khurram Dastgir Khan.
In a video making rounds on social media, a crane can be seen demolishing the station while people are standing nearby making videos on their mobile phones.
The petrol pump was located on GT Road near the Sheranwala Bagh in the city. The location has been considered as an encroachment for quite a long time but due to the strong influence of PML-N in the city, the operation against the site was not conducted.
The federal and provincial governments have launched an extensive anti-encroachment drive across the country and have conducted operations in cities including Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.
