LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Usman Dar was appointed the chairman of Prime Minister’s Youth Programme on Wednesday.
The appointment was made on orders of Prime Minister Imran Khan who called Dar “most suited” for the post.
“Revolutionary steps will be taken for the well-being of the youth under the programme,” PM Imran assured.
A notification has been issued in this regard.
Meanwhile, Dar has vowed to live up to PM’s expectations.
“I have been tasked to empower the youth and ensure their progress,” he said.
“We will launch great schemes and policies for the youth and our top priority will be to provide employment and the best training to them,” he added.
Criticising the former government and its laptop scheme, he remarked: “The previous government purchased laptops at exorbitant prices and caused a loss to the national exchequer.”
In Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government’s term, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter, Maryam Nawaz, was appointed the chairperson of the programme.
