LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday submitted a written reply to International Cricket Council (ICC) over the controversial bilateral series agreement between Pakistan and India.

Earlier, ICC had given one week’s time to PCB and the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) to submit their replies.

In its reply, PCB has taken the stance that it faced financial losses due to India not honouring the agreement between the two boards.

There was no written clause in the agreement regarding taking the permission for playing the series, the reply further mentioned.

On October 3, a three-day hearing before ICC over botched agreement of bilateral series between PCB and BCCI was concluded at ICC headquarters in Dubai.

Both cricketing boards are involved in the dispute over a 2014 bilateral matches agreement. India, however, did not honour the agreement stating that the government did not allow the matches. Henceforth, PCB submitted a notice before dispute committee of ICC last November claiming damages from the BCCI.

The PCB is demanding $70 million in compensation from BCCI, saying that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in 2014 had guaranteed six bilateral series between 2015 and 2023.
