LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Fayyazul Hassan Chohan on Wednesday said that much before the requisition of the opposition, the government had already summoned a budget session of the Punjab Assembly on October 16 and according to law, a second requisition could not be entertained.
Speaking to media persons after the protest held by PML-N lawmakers outside the Punjab Assembly, he said that the protesters were only trying to hoodwink media and people to hide the alleged corruption of their leader Shehbaz Sharif.
“NAB is an autonomous body and the PML-N leaders will be released if they are not guilty,” he said.
The info minister further said that six to seven assembly members of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in the Punjab Assembly had paid no heed to the PML-N lawmakers’ protest and added that NAB might also investigate the alleged corruption of Hamza Shehbaz and Rana Sanaullah after Shehbaz.
“Minds of agitators have been polluted by the Sharif family but the conscious people of Pakistan will not be entrapped by them anymore,” he concluded.
