KARACHI: Karachi Police Chief Dr Amir Sheikh on Wednesday directed deputy inspector generals (DIGs) to take strict action against those police officers involved in harassing young couples and asking them for marriage certificates.
A letter to Karachi zones further stated that Karachi residents often complain about police behaviour that policemen in mobiles and motorcycles stop couples and inquire about their marriage certificates to prove they are husband and wife.
