LAHORE: The Press Tour of ICC cricket world cup trophy to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Center (SKMCH&RC) was an event of great enthusiasm and pleasure for not only the employees but also the cancer patients admitted here.

On its arrival at the hospital, accompanied by an ICC official and member of World Cup 1992 winning team Mushtaq Ahmad, the trophy was first brought to the children who are suffering from cancer. In response to Mushtaq Ahmad’s question, a girl told him that Shoaib Malik is her favorite cricketer. The ICC officials connected the little girl with Shoaib Malik on a phone call.

The trophy was also welcomed by hundreds of hospital employees and their families at the hospital’s cricket ground. Splendid stage arrangements backed by music were made.

At the occasion, SKMCH&RC Chief Medical Officer Dr Muhammad Asim Yusuf paid his gratitude to ICC, PCB and all the people over there for their participation in a wonderful evening for cancer patients.
