KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Amir Khan was identified by an eyewitness in a case about shelter provided to reported terrorists at the MQM’s headquarters in the metropolis.
Minhaj Qazi and Raees Mama accompanied Amir Khan to appear at the anti-terrorism court for the hearing.
Deputy Superintendent (DS) Rangers Riaz, a key witness in the proceedings, identified Amir Khan.
Riaz explained that on March 11, 2015, Rangers had conducted a raid at the party’s headquarters during which Amir Khan was arrested.
Amir Khan’s lawyers will cross-examine Riaz during the next hearing scheduled for October 22, the court directed as the witness finished recording his statement.
Police have registered a case against Amir Khan at the Azizabad Police Station and the MQM-P leader is currently out on bail.
