Five FC personnel injured in Chaman blast

CHAMAN: At least five security personnel were severely injured in a blast near Frontier Corps (FC) vehicle in Killa Abdullah district here on Tuesday.

According to Levies sources, the explosion occurred when the security officers were patrolling the area.

The injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.

The police and other law enforcement agencies cordoned off the entire area after the blast and search operation in the area was launched.

Meanwhile, Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal strongly condemned the blast and ordered to launch an investigation into the matter.

Earlier in August, in an attempt to sabotage celebrations of independence day, anti-state elements targeted a Frontier Corps vehicle by planting an explosive remote-controlled device in a motorbike on Mall Road in Chaman, Balochistan.

The blast took place before an office of special branch police. This left one person dead and 15 others, including four FC personnel.
