LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Fayyazul Hassan Chohan on Tuesday said that all media houses were equally important to the government.

“The government is neutral towards media outlets and is making sincere efforts for the solution of problems faced by the journalists’. Problems regarding disbursement of salaries will be solved soon through dialogues with representatives of journalists’ organisations and owners of media houses,” he said while speaking to media persons who were protesting at Faisal Chowk.

He said that advertisement policy of the Punjab government was in the final phase and would be implemented after the approval of Punjab chief minister.

The minister also said that if a media house did not pay the salaries of its employees for more than two months then it would not be given advertisements.

“Suggestions of all stakeholders will also be included in the new advertisement policy.”

He said there was no censorship on any media organisation by the government and added that declarations of 650 dummy newspapers had been canceled.
