Mustafa Khar, accomplices arrested for poaching

KASUR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ghulam Mustafa Khar and his accomplices were arrested for illegal hunting of birds in border areas of Kasur.

Punjab Wildlife Department, taking action against the illegal hunting, apprehended the PTI leader along with his companions. The arrestees were released after paying a fine of Rs200,000, local media reported.

Khar, the co-founder of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), had joined PTI after ending his decades-old association with the PPP in 2017.

PTI had fielded Khar in NA-181 (Muzaffargarh) during the 2018 general polls but he was defeated by an independent candidate Muhammad Shabir Qureshi, who secured 64,012 votes.

Khar had bagged 48,858 votes.
