Multinational food franchise Subway launched its one Sub-one Plant initiative as its contribution in the Federal Government’s Green Pakistan program. In this initiative, over 500,000 trees will be planted across central Pakistan to “offset the impact of climate change”.

Subway Business Development Agent Mubashar Chohan said: “10 thousand saplings have already been planted, while more are still being planted in schools of Faisalabad every day on the basis of planting one plant for every one sub sold.”

“At least there will be greenery in schools when these saplings grow into trees through proper care. It is a matter of record that Pakistan is the country with the lowest forest cover, the area of forests cannot be expanded but trees grown on private land can positively contribute substantially to the nation’s wood production and this is what Subway plans to do,” He added.
