ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi on Friday constituted a 13-member National Economic Council (NEC).
According to an official notification, the council will be chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
NEC will include Finance Minister Asad Umar, Minister of Planning Khusro Bakhtiar, and PM’s Adviser on Commerce, Textiles, Industries and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood as well as the chief ministers of all four provinces.
Further, Punjab Finance Minister Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht will represent his province in the council while Minister for Food and Parliamentary Affairs Nisar Khuhro will represent Sindh.
According to the notification, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra, Balochistan member of provincial assembly (MPA) Jan Jamali, and PM’s Advisor on Institutional Reforms and Austerity Dr Ishrat Hussain will also be members of the NEC.
