PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has devised a systematic and professional approach to apprehend criminals through introduction of Criminal Record Verification System (CRVS).
According to a press release issued here Friday, Inspector General of Police Salahuddin Khan Mehsood after assuming the charge of his office has taken effective steps for ensuring smart and E-policing.
The Criminal Record Verification System (CRVS) has enhanced the efficiency of the police leading to better interrogation and investigation. Under the system, computerized data about all criminals has been provided to police stations which is available through simple criminal record verification (CRVS).
Moreover, the record of the proclaimed offenders is available on phone through an SIM service to all the police stations, check posts and snap checking points. The police officials on duty, on these points, directly verify the background of any person by clicking the mobile button.
This step by KP police has added to more professional and systematic
policing minimizing the arrest of innocent citizens to zero level. Along with digitization of FIRs, police has issued 276 special SIMs to all district police through which millions of people have been checked and during the process 1819 proclaimed offenders arrested.
The main features of the system is that data has been converted to digital format and all concerned officials have now easy access to the record. Similarly, this system can ensure the provision of all important information to the investigation officer about any case. Likewise, all district and regional police officers have been linked with each other.
